Dobbs tries to change his tune on Latinos >:(

It has the Wall Street Journal asking "What's going on?" America's Voice, an organization supporting a workable and humane approach to comprehensive immigration reform, is skeptical.

According to the WSJ, Lou Dobbs, former anchor with CNN, is moving fast to repair his image with Latinos as he looks to a potential future bid for political office.

During an interview with Telemundo, Dobbs mentioned a legalization plan twice for the 12 million illegal immigrants living and working in the United States saying that "we need the ability to legalize illegal immigrants under certain conditions." This is something Dobbs ranted against regularly calling it "shamnasty".

Amazing how they worry about the illegals and as far as i know they don't vote. The ones that went the legal route don't want to give then a free ride either.

To answer the original question, most, NO. The rest, very little. They aren't interested in reporting just the facts, and the few real newsworthy stories they cover have to get a"reality check" from the editors, and be filtered through a leftist world view.

I don't think it's ever been true that news organizations could be trusted to deliver news independent of an editorial philosophy, whether it's one of sensationalism, political leaning, or a view of what's newsworthy.

The corollary to this is that it's preposterous when a reporter or news organization claims to be objective.

Well it sounds as though Dobbs will make an average politician!

When the media tanked for clinton, Limbaugh and Drudge were the result. People will seek and support the truth.

I feel the journalist's worst violation of the public trust is events they don't air at all. The daily heroics and sacrifice of our Armed Forces are something they still ignore.

Read or reread George Orwell's 1984. It surprises me it is still available.

never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense”

Of course you can't trust journalists as a general rule and that's nothing new.  There are some that I trust to try to report the truth, but even they are suspect.  If I had to name one, it would be Britt Hume.  I want very much to believe some of the honeys on Fox, so I guess I'm just another sucker.

NW_Hunter, absolutely not. I don't even trust the rule of 3 anymore (i.e. 3 agreeing sources tending to indicate truth). Even if you can factor in the known skew, you're probably still off.

I hope Palin doesn't hitch her wagon to Dobbs as some have suggested; if she does, then it clears up much for me.
