Here's mine with the 300 WinMag barrel, also have 7mm-08 and 243(soon to be 6mm Ackley).

Soon to be a 6MM ack.
Have you thought about making it a 243 Ack?
You can get that Wonderful Lapua Brass for it,Plus there are many many proven loads for the 243!
I have owned both,the Brass in the 243 is a VG way to go!

I got a good deal on a Hornady hydraulic forming die and matching reamer for the 6mm Ackley, so I'm having two of my 243s rechambered.

Comparing the 6mm Rem AI with the .243 chamberings, I think the 6mm Rem AI comes out on top. The 6mm AI is ALL the cartridge any varmint hunter needs. It will do anything you want to do with varmints, any kind of varmint. And in a 10-twist, it is the best 1000-yd varmint caliber you can get your hands on period. The long-necked 6mm AI will have less throat erosion than the short-necked .243 or .243 AI. The 6mm Rem AI will also hold a little more powder than a .243 Ackley. For long-range varminting, sending light bullets at ultra-high velocities, I just think the 6mm Rem has better case design than a .243 Win. With either case, definitely go with the Ackley version. The 40° shoulder gives you a little more powder capacity and both the shoulder angle and the reduced body taper give you better brass life. A case with no taper won't stretch as much as a tapered case."

By the way, I just got an email from Mark at CVA, He says there is no plan to reintroduce the 300 win. mag, but says a new introduction will be made at the SHOT show that will make me very happy.

I notice the comb on the thumbhole stocked rifles seems lower than on the standard stock.

I just layed the standard stock on top of the t-hole, looks like it might be just a tad lower, 1/16" at the most.

If you go to the CVA website and look at the rifles, the compact model has the highest comb then the standard optima stock and the thumbhole is lowest. I might get a compact stock just for that reason. I also prefer the shorter stock for deer season and winter because of the extra clothing. I'm going to a gunshow in Minot ND on Nov 30th and hope to feel a couple different models if anyone has them. I've olny held a standard Optima .50 and the stock design feels excellant but on the drive home I thought it felt longer then I'm used to, might just be me too so I want to feel them again before I buy.

Once again I looked around at the Optima Elite, considering buying one. I like the thumbhole stock but to get one you have to buy it as a muzzleloader and order your centerfire barrel then get a centerfire forend. Tricky right? On the other hand I really like the way the Muzzleloader set up feels and the 29 inch barrel is just right for me. Problem is I have a rifle in every cartridge the Elite has barrels for, I have 4 muzzleloaders already and two of them are 50 cals.

That has me a little curious. Have you been talking to him about a particular round?

I was trying to get a 300 when I got the combo, then they told me it was discontinued. He knows I want something bigger with some good range to it. Maybe there coming out with a 338 or something similar. He said he couln't tell me yet but that I would be happy. I know it isn't a 300 because he did tell me they would not be bringing the 300 back.

247gr colorado thor, 110gr pyrodex rs @ 100. The hole in the upper right is 3 shots with a few minute cool down. The next 2 in the black were "rapid" fire with no cool down. Win777 primers

250gr ballistic tip thor with 105gr @ 100 yards, 3 shots. win777 primers

Accura does pretty good too with sabots. 300gr XTP mag *.451"* in short black mmp24 sabot and 88gr * by weight* pyrodex RS with cci inline MZL primers. ZERO SWABBING /COOL DOWN!
