What do you think I meant by "if you knew it was best for the country?"
Did I ever say government mandated? Did I ever say across the board except for the fat cats currently in power? Exactly what do you suppose our perfect nation will look like when the dust settles? Do you suppose for one minute that if we're able to reverse the course of our nation and restore it to a constitutionally based government, that we'll also be able to continue our economy? Do you ever stop to think that in the name of freedom, we'll plunge into 2nd world status (if were lucky) for a period of time, and we won't be able to buy all the goods and services we have now, and the economy won't be able to support our current wage scales?
I picked 25% not as a government mandate but because that's my spitball number of how much our economy could support with a massive change to its current status, and it was probably low. So for the good of the country, would you fight to fix our nation IF YOU KNEW UP FRONT that you would lose another 25% or more of your paycheck due to the natural course of the economy. Have you counted the cost of your ideas and are you willing to pay for them, or are you going to wait on someone else to pay their due?
I have nothing but respect for the hard working tax paying Americans like myself, NW_Hunter, and y'all who have perhaps given more to this country than others. Ive been working since I was 14, enlisted for 12 years, took no loans to get through a Bachelors and a Masters. I did not opt out of Social Security when I was ordained. When I pastored I had a full time job besides, managing field line crews on the canadian and mexican borders. As a Chaplain no one has ever accused me of taking the easy route.
It makes me angry that so many great folks have convinced themselves that its out of their hands to fix whats broke.
