NEW Hornady 50 Cal 300gr InterLock® FPB®

Looks like the 350 gr FPB® has a baby brother. Has anyone seen these, or better yet shot them? I would like to see them in a .45 caliber, in a 250 and 300 grain. The 350 is one of the most accurate bullets I have ever shot, and they put PowerBelts to shame on performance as well. This new offering will find PowerBelt trying to reinvent itself.

I have`nt yet tried the 350gr FPB`s but they still look very promising. Mayber next year they`ll have a 250gr FPB.

I tried them or at least tried to load one got stuck about 2 inches down in my Triump. had to remove the nipple and knock it out with a cleaning rod so have not tried them again. They seem to be hard to load. did you lub yours?

They go down smooth in my .502" NEF Huntsman and H&R Sidekick. I have a .5015" Knight that is a little harder, but not that bad.

You can pre-rifle them in your rifle by pushing them through nose first through your unloaded rifle with the breech plug removed. Then you only need to line up the rifling kerfs when you want to shoot them. You can pre-rifle a whole package to your rifle in a couple minutes.

My TC Encore and Black Diamond both have tight bores.  There is a knack to loading the FPB into a TC that has QLA.  Sit the FPB in the QLA and give the short starter a good whack with the palm of your hand.  The bullet then goes down easy.   My CVA Mag hunter also have something like a QLA.  I load it the same way.

I tried them and I didn't like them to much. They were hard to load, didn't shoot to good in my rifle and I kept pulling the tip off the bullet. I gave two and a half packages away.

I found out the 300 grain FPB's won't be out for about 3 more months. One less thing I have to worry about shooting this year. The 350's have bee one hole accurate in my Huntsman.

I had a encore that shot the 350gr. fpb quite well with 150 gr charges about 2" without cleaning between shots and 1.25 cleaning between shots. It still like the 250 shockwaves the best but the fpb's did load a bit easier. I ended up selling the rifle due to financial reasons and I now have a omega with the 28" stainless barrel and laminated thumbhole stock. This rifle doesn't seem to like them at all but it is new and the barrell needs to be shot more to truly know but once again it really likes the 250 shockwaves the best.  I'm kinda thinking it just might be the weight of bullet being the culprit and yes i would definetly try a 300 grain version  to see.
