Difference in metal detectors
« on: January 14, 2010, 09:39:36 AM »
Just curious, is there a difference in metal detectors that are used to find gold and other minerals and those that are used for relic hunting?. Thanks, Frank

most will find any metal, use the discriminator circuit and you'll miss most ferrous (iron) metals and find  gold, silver, copper, alum.  If you turn off the discriminator circuit you'll find all metals, used this way they are good for relic hunting were you want to find iron.

A coin/relic machine is not made for prospecting, finding gold nuggets etc, but will do fine on jewelry or relics
