How things have changed...
« on: December 02, 2009, 02:50:48 PM »
When I was a kid the idea of a nuclear firestorm that vaporized Washington, DC would have appalled and frightened most people. Today I wonder how many people there are in this country who think that might not be a bad idea.

Back then there were lots of movies about the glorification of various government functions, mostly military, but many political and historical in nature, and made to instill a sense of pride and patriotism. I don't believe such movies are made any more in significant numbers. Is it because we have become so jaded as a society with our government that we cannot suspend disbelief when someone attempts to tell a story glorifying government activities that actually help the people?

I must say that a nuke on DC would solve most of this country's problems in one blinding flash. I'd hate to see it get that drastic but in reality a clean sweep of them all is desperately needed to set this country back on the right path.

Who says if such were to take place that more of the same would still follow? Dale

unless this would be one device smuggled in rather then delivered via a missile, there would be more coming for other cities.
