trapping regs for miss.
« on: December 08, 2009, 08:30:26 AM »
i'm trying to find the trapping regs for the state of miss.  when i purchased my license in magnolia, ( nonresident) they had no info on the regs. i want to find out if i can use body grips and how i should/can use them for beaver or water trapping in general,  if anyone can direct me to an online source it would be much appreciated,  tried doing a search but found nothing.

bogmaster,  do you sell 330 body grip traps,  preferably dukes?

Bud,I trapped in Miss. 5 years ago.All I used was 330s.At that time, you could even st them on land.I never did,I don't feel comfortable setting those traps on land.I half submerged mine, just like I do at home.

I really enjoyed trapping down there, lots of coon, good numbers of beaver, bobcats and otter.the yotes are shorthaired --red and ugly--and there are abillion possum.

theres a little less than a billion grinners now,  but i'm sure their numbers will bounce back.  i caught a solid black one a week ago.  had never seen that before,  and as ugly as these rats are ,  that black one was really beautiful.  i'm trapping in meadville.  southwest Miss.  right smack in between macomb and natchez off 84.   my properties actually in the middle of the homochitto national forest.  and yes the yotes are dirt ugly but couple weeks ago i took a couple nice ones. a really hugh male thats going to be mounted for a friend.  taking some nice greys too.  i'm having a problem with diggers in two spots.  i'm back home now .  doing some duck hunting but the split closed sunday,  so i'll be off to Miss,  for a couple weeks again to dance with those diggers and yotes and cats.  i got a fresh batch of Mb 450's and 550's all waxed up for the little devils.

making a fresh batch of bait now,  added sodium today.  ground bobcat smells real nice,  dab of mouse oil and skunk.  some castor , jar it then i'm off to camp
