7MM.WEATHERBY MAG & 7MM.REM. MAG
« on: December 03, 2009, 03:03:22 PM »
will the 7mm. rem mag ammo shoot out of a 7mm. weatherby mag rifle? it doesnt quite fit but the bolt will close with a little force.
I am not even gunna try to shoot it.
Its same size bullet but the 7mm. rem mag caseing is slightly shorter & has a straight taper crimping the bullet & the 7mm. weatherby mag has a sloped taper.

Anyone ever shot 7mm. rem. mag ammo out of a
7mm. weatherby mag or know if it will even shoot without damaging the gun or the shooter?

I have not shot any sort of a 700.

My advise......Don't even try! Better to be safe than REAL sorry!

At those kinds of pressures, consider the magnitude of what could go wrong!  Why would anyone knowingly attempt it - to save a few bucks?

AGAIN.......DOES ANYONE HAVE AN ACTUAL ANSWER???
As I stated before (I'M NOT EVEN GUNNA TRY TO SHOOT IT) PERIOD!!!
My semi retarded cousin who bought the ammo for his gun just might though.
he let me barrow it for deer season this year which closed nov.1st
I just thought it would be nice to hunt with his fathers rifle who past away a few years back.

Why would anyone knowingly attempt it - to save a few bucks?
Well chuck, Its $50 bucks a box either way.
my cousin doesn't know how these things work but for some reason has a lot of guns that he knows nothing about. To him a 7mm. is a 7mm.
I'm just curious to know if it has been done before without incident. but not curious enough to shoot it to find out.

PLEASE, ((DON'T REPLY)) IF YOU DONT HAVE AN ANSWER!!!  ((NO OPINIONS))

The two cartridges are not interchangeable.
