H4198 Powder. Need some loads

I was given a new 1 lb of H4198. I can't seem to find any loads for what I need. The 45 70 load I'm using with it is really good.
Is there any data available or do you have any good loads for:
30 06
270
243
35 Whelen
Just want to put this powder to work. No use just letting it sit in the container.
Give me what you have, if there's anything to be had for the mentioned cals.

It's really too fast for the rounds you mention.  Works great in the 45-70 and 444 marlin to name a few.

It is best in large straight walled cases and 222 Remington class cases. It is considered one of the best in the 222 Remington and 221 Fireball, but can do well in the 223, 6mm TCU, 7mm TCU and some times in the 204 Ruger and 222 Magnum. As mentioned, the bottle necked cases you mentioned have too large a capacity to use H 4198 effectively. Good Luck and Good Shooting

Years ago American Rifleman published an article on reduced loads.  They recommended 35 grs. of either IMR or Hogden 4198 for 30-06, 150 gr. bullets.  I've used it with the IMR variety, several different 150 gr. bullets.  Its a good, accurate, low recoil load for practice of target shooting.  The article stated that 4198 was not position sensitive and therefore a good choice for reduced loads.

Reloader's nest lists some loads for the 06 and .270 using IMR4198. As others have said, this powder is not optimal for your uses, but information is available. You decide if it's reliable.  You have to be a member to see the actual data, (I'm not) but here's the link: http://www.reloadersnest.com/

If it's working so good in the 45-70 save it just for that.Won't take that many loads to use up one pound of powder.

The answers I rcvd are what I expected with this powder.
The H4198 is now the official 45 70 Powder. It does work well with this cal.
