Has anyone ever torn one apart for a deep clean? I have and am having an issue with re- assembly of the action. Any help would be appreciated.

Give me a little more info.. Is this a shotgun, rifle.. Savage made a myriad of models and variations and some had changes.. I've included a link below to a page with parts diagrams for many, many Savage guns.. A little more info please.. And what is your problem? Perhaps its generic enough to answer without more info on model..

Sorry it is a shotgun and there is a small part that looks like and ejector or something that I cannot figure out were it goes. And there is the eject level that seems not to fit correctly.

Is this a pump shotgun or a single shot.  The shotguns listed in the link I posted should help.. Savage made and sold many shotguns..

Did you look at the parts blow ups at the link given? Savage pumps, most anyway, were pretty much the same design. The ejector is screwed to the left side of the receiver on the inside. If the ejector scrfew loosens the operation of the bolt shears the screw retaining the ejector and it falls away. An easy fix but annoying if the day ends for your hunt because of it. I've replaced more than a few. Look at the Mod 30 diagram as it seems pretty common.
