Environmental group takes over
« on: December 16, 2009, 10:05:46 PM »
Here in Alaska we have Advisory Committees that work with the game board.  These committees are made up of locally elected members to represent the community.  I have been on the Fairbanks Advisory committee several years, off and on.  We review all proposals for change to hunting and fishing regulations, and make recommendations to the game board on how to handle the proposals.  If the local people have a problem pertaining to hunting and fishing regs they can bring it to the Advisory Committee and we can work for a resolution.  We hold our elections in December, and the local citizenry comes to the meeting and votes for representatives for their community.

Earlier this month an environmental group for biodiversity got together and stacked the vote.  They voted in members of their group who are not hunters or fishermen.  This is going to create a serious problem, and we in Fairbanks are wondering how the folks in Anchorage are going to handle this problem.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Tell all the new members since they just got voted in, they are low man on the totem pole. It's up to them to go out and count all the polar bears and grizzlys to see if there is a safe number for a hunting season. And tell them to make sure they don't count the same one twice,(don't want an inflated number) they are suppose to tag their ears. Convience them that the bears are use to this, and will sit quietly while they get their yearly ear tag. Ought to even things out. gypsyman
