Beretta 92 FS Holster
« on: September 18, 2009, 07:54:58 PM »
I just got my hands on a new beretta 92 FS and I'm looking for a holster for it. I enjoy the hard plastic holsters over the leather ones. Any of you beretta guys strongly recommend one brand or style over another? Any help is much appreciated.

I see no one replied.  I just saw this myself.  I don't own any plastic holsters.  I have a few different leather holsters which I use occasionally when it is not in my Safariland duty holster at work.  I normally don't carry it off duty, but if I do it is with a holster similar to this.

Unless it is cold outside (which is rare in the Las Vegas area) and I am wearing a large untucked shirt I normally carry whatever I'm carrying inside the belt.

Good luck in whatever you choose,
Michael

I just purchased a Blackhawk CQC Carbon Fiber holster for my military issue M9 (same weapon as 92FS).  I got it with both the belt loop and paddle configurations.  Tried it with both and settled on the paddle.  It's the STRIKE model with the detent that grabs the trigger guard when you insert the wepon into the holster, securing it.  Wearing it as I type this and with my uniform (Army ACU) top untucked it's hardly noticable.

You stated you preferred plastic over leather, both Fobus and uncle Mike's are good if that is what you want.  Stay away from plastic in- the- pants holsters.  I bought one when they first came out and if you put a hot gun,(one mag full shot), into the holster the heat goes straight to you. ??? For in -the -pants leather is the only way to go.
