Need Trigger Job......DFW Texas?
« on: December 09, 2009, 05:00:27 PM »
After having read through the different ways(repeatedly) to do a trigger job on the Handi, I have to pass on doing it myself.

I live in Forney and work in Mesquite Texas.

Anyone know of a gunsmith, in the area, that has good knowledge of Handi trigger jobs?

Or is there anyone with the tools and experience willing to guide me through the process?

Thanks,
Kyle

I think that Two Wright Arms in Springtown (west of Fort Worth) might work on them.
I don't know of anyone else, but I haven't really looked.  The trigger job looks daunting when you look at the pics online, but it is 10 times easier than it sounds.
Once the gun starts coming apart, it makes perfect sense on how the mechanisms work and how it goes back together.  I was horrified sitting at my workbench with a Buffalo Classic on the bench and a drift punch in my hand.  It tool me 20 minutes to build the nerve to knock out the first pin.  After that it was gravy.

I just sent you a PM with my contact info.

I'll be in the 'plex for part of the holidays, but I don't think my wife's family will buy the "I'm just going to help a guy with his gun.  C'mon, it's the holidays, the season for giving!" excuse.  It's really not that hard.  Just follow the instructions.  Anyway, you wouldn't want my help, I'm a bit to happy with the stone.

I believe H&R is still doing them.  I know they did mine and I didn't even ask them to when I sent it back for a shotgun barrel.

That would be good advice, specially if you're wanting an accessory barrel, just have H&R do the trigger job while it's there, Ilion hasn't charged for it yet.  ;)
