Trail boss powder
« on: November 30, 2009, 06:16:38 AM »
My Lyman book doesn't list Trail Boss powder in loads.  What is it equivilent to?  I have seen lots of people use this load.  Who makes it? and is there a listing on line of grains.  I was thinking of using it in my 44 mags and 4570's.

Trail Boss is an IMR product, data can be found on Hodgdon's online data at their website, you can also download the Hodgdon manual.

Just to say I use loads of it for both my 44 mag and my 45-70 and it is a wonderful powder!  The loads are low recoil, pretty slow, and some of the most accurate loads I've ever loaded!

I use that in an 1872 open top revolver in 44 special. Very nice powder to use. Between it and the Mountain Mould bullet I make it shoots one ragged hole at 20 yds. Steve
