cva plainsman commemorative edition

does anyone know anything about the cva plainsman pennsylvania comm edition? I just picked one up and was wondering about the year of production and a possible value of this weapon it is a flint lock and I would put it at approx 90% condition.

the last 2 digits in the serial # should be the build date. i had one too and it was one hell of a shooter.  2 shots at 100 yards were touching while the next 1 always hit a couple inches to the left. 70gr 3f goex and a 405gr powerbelt. The 348's also shot great.

round ball loads,  .490 round ball, .015 patch and 70-90gr 3f goex.  i really prefer 3f in a flinter.

I don't know where the two-digit thing comes from, but I know for sure that doesn't hold to a couple of other models of CVA's traditional rifles (so I doubt its true here either).

When it was made I'm not sure, but between 1971-1991 if while CVA still sold the traditionals themselves (before selling out that business to Deer Creek).   This model is not in the mid 70's or late 80's CVA catalogs.

CVA Plainsman Flintlock, .50 caliber, barrel 26", 1:48 twist. 
Case-hardened lock; brass bead front, fixed rear sights, hardwood stock, 6 1/2 lbs. 
MSRP $160

IMO only a couple of CVA traditional muzzy models might be called collectable, and this is not one of them.

no one said anything about them being collectible.  Also the $160 was for the plain jane plainsman. The limited edition PA plainsman has engraving and adjustable sights which of course, drives up the price. Not to mention the fact that they are no longer made.  most newer cva's like the plainsman will have the year build in the last 2 digits.
