What does XTR stand for on winchester?

I just bought a win. 9422M XTR and a friend picked up a Mod. 94 30-30 AE XTR I understand the AE/angle eject but what does the XTR stand for?
Also anyone know the history of the 9422M as far as accuracy, dependability user issues ect., ect., ect.

I believe "XTR" stands for "extra." If not mistaken, the XTR should have more of a midnight blue finish, a full length loading tube, really nice checkering, and a fancier walnut stock.

9422M isn't what you want, I'll help you out and take the thing off your hands.   They are excellant, wish I had one.  A friend had one that was one hell of a shooter and never any problems with feeding ect.  Problem was, when he sold it cause he needed money, I didn't have any extra for the little beauty.   DP

I got mine a few years ago for under $200.  It sat in a Gander Mountain gun rack for so long the manager thought the bore was rusty and the front sight was damaged.  Turned out all it needed was a good cleaning.  I really like mine, and will be passing it on to one of my sons.  It is as described: beautiful finish, good walnut, hand cut checkering.  And it is a shooter!

This one was in my Father inlaws gun safe and as I was the one that was charged with the task of selling most all the guns and that one in particular kept Flashing its sights at me every time I opened the safe and especially since I dearly love my 22WMR Ruger 77/22M  AW I felt compelled to buy it a safe mate. So what ammo and bullet weights do the 9422M's  seem to like?

I can't find a box right at the moment, but mine likes the Remington Jacked Hollowpoint.  It also did well with a Federal but I can't recall which one.
