You forgot to add that .444 will also shoot; 44 colt, 44 Russian, 44 special & 44 mag. 

I am tempted to punch my 44 mag Handi out to .444. (I shoot many of the above 44's in CAS/SASS.)

I read somewhere that it is not a good idea to shoot the .44mag out of the .444, because of the long jump to the rifling makes it inaccurate.  I also saw somewhere that the .410 will fit in the .444, but the rifling might not make for a good pattern.  Think it was on this board.  Maybe QuikTDoo will chime in.

The web on a 44 mag is .457 and a 444 Marlin is .471.   Not a good idea.

Shooting 44mag is a 444Marlin is not a smart thing to do unless you like gas at 40kpsi blasting out from between the standing breech and barrel or back thru the firing pin channel, as Eskimo36 said, there's a big difference in chamber size.

The .444 is not a straight wall case like the 44colt, 44russian, 44spl, 44mag, 445supermag - it is a tapered wall case that is closer to the diameter of a 45Colt than 44 pistol.   You will have ruptured cases if you shoot the lessor cartridges in the tapered wall 444 chamber.

Look at the measurement of the case diameter by the rim.
