« on: October 10, 2003, 05:52:23 AM »
Any of you African hunters use handguns?  If I'd like to hear the caliber used, bullets used game hunted etc. etc.

Thanks,

Turk

I have used a 375JDJ with flawless results. I have taken out a number of hunters with 44 mag, 454, and other contenders. All seem to work nice so long as the operator knows his abilities.

Africa with a handgun

8) I've taken stuff from the size of a duiker to red hartbeeste with a handgun in .41Magnum. Darn near had a record book gemsbok but I just couldn't get inside my self-imposed limit on him. I've been to Africa three times for plains game. My next trip will be for a couple buffalo with my .475Linebaugh. Check out some of the pictures at Gary Reeder's site. He's got alot of number one handgun trophies. It's much cheaper in the long run than a guided brown bear/moose hunt in Alaska for the number of animals you can kill. RKBA!
