worst deer hunter ever

Or at least the most shameless. I got up early Sat. morn, eager to hunt in the snow. This was the earliest snow we've had in N. GA, at least since I've been alive; must be some of Al Gore's global warming
. Anyways, I headed to the national forest to a spot I'd never been before. I figured the higher up I went, the more snow I'd see. Anyhow, I go trudging down a small creek bottom between two ridges when two does run down one side and start up the other about 50 yards in front of me. I pop the second one with my 30-30 and drop it. When I get to it, I find out it is a button-buck. . . . darn, I hate doing that, it was the second time it's happened to me. Well, at least I got some meat. As small as it was, it got heavy dragging it uphill for a half mile.

I know how ya feel there 78...
I hunt for fawns, well, at least one each year, and have popped buttons I swore were doe fawns.
I feel bad... 'bout as long as it takes to get him in the freezer.

Don't feel bad, they taste just as good.
The public land I hunt os so pressured, you're lucky to see a deer let alone harvest one. So it's the old saying "if it's brown, it's down". Doe, button buck, forkie, doesn't matter.

HECK, I THOUGHT THIS WAS A THREAD ABOUT ME! I was coming in to defend myself!!
Had a dream this morning about walking out back and shooting a yearling and it fell and got up and ran off, it was so vivid that i got up and went to look for a blood trail! I loose em in my dreams !
What does that mean?

Yea, I think we are all in agreement. I sure am looking forward to that fried backstrap
. And ya'll are right, just about any deer on public land in GA is a semi-trophy. Kansas is another story. Still, if I had seen the buttons, I would have shot the doe in front of it. Oh well, still an experience worth remembering, hunting in the snow in Ga during December, just don't happen very often. Any of you guys hunt N. GA much?

open the picture in paint (Start , program , accessories , paint)
and then re-save (File, Save As) it in a .JPG format under file type.
that format should post.
