No drill/No Tap Mount For Blackhawk?
« on: October 11, 2003, 05:29:40 PM »
I see that B-Square makes a no drill/no tap mount for the Ruger Blackhawk, does anybody else make them?  Is anybody using the B-Square model?

Neither of mine were for a Blackhawk, but I have tried two B-Square mounts and neither of them worked worth a flip. Sent my .44 Bisley to E. Arthur Brown and they did a great job at a pretty good price. I got the Interlock 3-Ring Mount for $60. Check out the details at www.eabco.com/cssmts.html. This mount I will trust for life. I woundn't
waste my money on the B-Square. MHO.

Ive got one on a stainless super blackhawk and it has take a couple thousand rounds of 300 grain .44 mag ammo with no problems just like any other mount you need to check it once in a while to make sure everything is tight. Only problem I had with it is it was a tad to long when I got it and I had to cut about 1/2 in off of it.

Scope mount

Camel23:

Weaver makes one, the only thing you have to do is take off the rear sight and screw down the mount. the front of the mount is a clap around the barrel with a screw to tighten it up.  I bought mine so long ago that I don't remember what they cost.  Midway probably has them.  I've had zero trouble with mine.  The only objection that I can think of is the scope sits to far to the rear of the revolver to suit me.  I like the scope out over the barrel like with the Ruger hunter models.

I have a B-square on a stainless steel Blackhawk 357 Mag.  I was hesitant at first, because I wanted to shoot heavy loads and was afraid the that lack of many drilled mounting screws would result in slipage.  It hasn't.

The B-square I have has about 3 screws that "pinch" the front blade site and a rear screw that goes in the "adjustable rear site" screw hole.  I didn't have to do any fitting, it fit just fine when I bought it.  The only modification was to remove the rear site and put all the pices in a small plastic bag and put that bag in the gun safe, where hopefully I will be able to find it, if I ever want to go back to "as issued by Ruger" configuration.

Since I have two 357 Ruger Blackhawks, one in Stainless that I scoped and one in blue that I shoot as it came from the factory, I doubt that I will take the scope mount off anytime soon.

I do have to admit that the scope and scope mount do add a bunch of weight to the Blackhawk.  It gets really heavy at the range after a few shots.

The B-Square mounts can be found on the internet for less than the "manufacturers suggested retail price is."  At first I didn't but a scope mount because of the price.  Eventually, I saw one on saw and dove in.  It is pretty awsome, but finding a holster to handle a scoped pistol (that you like) is a whole other story.

Good luck

I have been considering a B-square mount for my ruger super blackhawk 44 mg. So far I have found only one gunshop that says they work.
One shop informed me ruger makes a no drill mount.
After reading the comments here I will probably try onemyself. :P
