Broke up a happy marriage ... What was I Thinking
« on: December 16, 2009, 02:59:59 PM »
My 5 old style Contender frames and me had got along good for a lot of years.  I wanted nothing to do with the G2.  Then the TCA offered its members this G2 frame that was finished in the high lustre blue finish.  Thought I needed one so I sold one of my old frames to fund the purchase (dang poor economy).  Got it a while back and it is one pretty frame.  That high lustre blue makes an awesome looking frame.

Thought I would check the trigger pull tonight.  The gun will not cock with any of my 7 old non G2 barrels.  Put one of my G2 barrels on and it cocked fine and I was greeted by a 5 lb trigger pull instead of the 3 lb my old original frame had.

Now I know that new lugs will fix the lockup problem, but dang it, if the original and the G2 are supposed to be interchangable, they should interchange.  When you look at the lugs there is a big difference in them.  A trapper spring kit will help the trigger and hopefully get it down to around 3 lbs.

Should have stood by my convictions and stayed with the original, but everytime I look at that G2 frame I think that is one of the coolest blue jobs I have ever seen.

Yep, got exactly what you deserve for messing around with a G2 w***e in fancy clothes.   ;D

I wanted nothing to do with the G2 when I was included in the "loop" and handed the prototype (under the table) for inspection at the 2000 SHOT Show, and I still don't.   All my EO frames with very smoothe and very light triggers would never speak to me again.
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

I think I just said something like this in another thread just recently. I have 2 stainless and one blue and would not trade any for a G-2. A good friend of mine just recently bought a G-2 and I looked it over and could not believe the lousy trigger that gun had. Oh yeah they look nice but I want something I can use without having to send it away for a trigger job as soon as I buy it. Al

Yes you can say I have always been Red White and Blue
