Tweaking the 308 survivor....
« on: December 21, 2009, 11:24:41 AM »
Took my  son in law to the range yesterday with his 308 survivor.  We have replace the survivor stock with a pallet wood, fitted the fore end and worked up some loads.  Results were much better.  He was managing less than 2" groups at 100.  I shot one 3 shot group at less than an inch.

I think he's ready, but unfortunately, deer season is all but done this year.  He'll have to try it out on some Texas hogs when he gets home...by the way, this was only his third time shooting any rifle.

Good to hear he's got it zeroed in, and that's not shabby shooting in anyones book, so he's definately ready!   That's one thing here in Texas we have plenty of, and that's hogs.

Seems like the season just started, and here it's just about done for this year.

Got to look forward to next year, and I've seen some good ones, and hopefully their still walking!

My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.
