I was a couple of weeks overdue doing the oil change on my car. It had been cold for a while, or otherwise inclement. So I waited for a nice day when it was warm and not too windy, put on an old t-shirt and went to work.
It was 20 degrees out, and snowing, and I was in my short sleeved t-shirt. That's a Minnesota oil change.
I use a square of plywood to lay down on when I'm under the car. It's kind of nice when there's snow in the driveway. The snow under the plywood lets me slide around like one of those cool mechanic's carts with the little wheels on them.
