I would also like to compair notes as I have a Ruger #1V in 6AI.  I have done some fireforming (.257 Roberts brass, cream of wheat, 5 gal bucket of rags). I have loaded some, BUT have had health issues, so have not been able to shoot it!!  Be glad to exchange emails.

I have two of them both 1/10 twist barrels 26" long.  GB has a deal about posting wildcat loads/velocity which he may consider unsafe.  Best advice is try another site like http://www.6mmbr.com/index.html get on their forum and you can get alot of  good safe data.

I got mine back and will be shooting this week I hope.
mine is 26" 1-14 twist.

Also: anyone have a 2½x7 by 3/16 or 1/4 thick piece of
flat stock brass I could buy cheap to make a butt plate.
thanks.

I have both slow and fast twist barrels in this round. By nature of being custom chambered and who did it and what blank, so much also depends on how tight the chamber and throat is. Like in even factory barrel/ chambers, what works in one may not work in another. On my one with real tight tolerances, I found myself starting at standard chamber starting loads, and with the other not so tight, 2 grs. below max and working up. I did find that in the slow twist H4350 worked best with the light weight bullets, and while H4831SC is also a favorite, I ended up going with RL-25 in the long pointy heavy weight bullets. You just have to play around shooting and have some fun, to find out whart yours likes or dislikes.
