Heavy barrel
« on: January 07, 2010, 03:58:49 AM »
When they list a rifle with a heavy barrel is that the standard or bull barrel?  Couldn't see it in a picture just in type.   Seeing how the standards are pretty thick to begin with is one really better than the other?

If I remember right the Heavy bbl is on the Sportster Rimefires otherwise I think they go Bull, Standard and Superlight. I think the Heavy bbl is very close to Bull but they call it Heavy ? But if I am wrong on this these guys will fix me. ;) Kurt

I think you're right, Kurt.  I just sold a .17HMR HB because I didn't like the feel and carry of it with the HB and synthetic stock.

Lots of people call the standard barrel on a handi a bull because it is much
heavier than most rifles. Handi has a Bull, Standard and lite i believe.
Bull comes on hmr, 204 ruger

To my knowledge, the 204 Ruger has only been made in 22" bull barrel and 24" fluted bull barrel as a normal offering, but then Dick's and other major retailers can do special orders and can get anything they want if they buy enough of em.
