What bullets do you like in fast twist 22 Cal. like 22-250 IMP..

 :) Got my AI back on track and need to buy some bullets. So far 55 grain Serria HPBT shoot best, but that is not why I made this... I looked over my old notes and the Hornady 68 and 75 grain were destroyed on the way to the target... What works for you folks.....

I like the 80 gr. Sierra match, but you will need a 7 twist to stablize them. Never tried the 77 gr. Sierras but they my work better if you have an 8 twist.

 ;) Catfish, do the Serria's open on coyotes.... According to my bullet box. the 80's should stabilize with a 1-8 that is what I have...I looked into the 77's. Serria said they were for .223's... I have forgotten exactly what... It was a guy at serria that got me interested in this project... At times I wish I would not have built the rifle....but it is a learning experience...

At 3,250 fps. they leave GREAT BIG HOLES. At least if you hit any bone.

 8)jump, it was a guy at Serria that sort of talked me into this twist. Shot it today, it does super with 55 grain hollowpoints, but so far the heavy stuff has not shown me anything special..But have only shot a dozen groups or so with it.. Thanks for the tip....

We've never used any of the 77 or 80 grain stuff. But their 69 grain bullets are great out of our 1 in 9 twist Bushmaster. I would think that your 22-250 improved with a 1 in 8 twist should be violently awesome with some 77 or 80 grain stuff. I believe that Paul will be a large help.

 :D I have loaded some 80's, but not many, the 69's seem fair... Still I have not tried enough groups to get a good load developed this far... will let you know how things turn out..May be a bit, have 3 or 4 other guns to develop loads for plus load some shotgun ammo for quail...... :-\ :-\ :-\
