Yes, maybe he had some seating issues, that was out of my hands.

Several years ago I wanted a powder that burned cleaner than Pyrodex and 777.  JSG was a very long learning curve for me.  Burned up about 20 pounds of APP and JSG before I got it right.  The APP powder company does not yet have it right:  They say:  "Seat the projectile so that it is firmly against the powder."    Ain't so, it won't work well that way, you have to crunch it.  I put a golf ball on the end of the ramrod and lean it with both hands.

110 grains of JSG 3F gives about 80 fps more than 110 grains of JSG 2F and that is what I used.  Am presently using Goex Pinnacle 3F which is also made by APP.  Pinnacle is somewhat hotter than JSG.

I don't fully buy those minimum expansion velocities.  I don't shoot the 250 but I do shoot the 200 and have done so since it was introduced.  I have about a dozen shots that I have taken deer at 200+ yards with I think 3 at 300yds or greater with a max or 338 yards.  Yes I hit every shot at that range in fact ever one was a bang-flop.

I recovered a bullet from 209 yards, the bullet penetrated fully and stopped under the off side skin.  It was fully expanded to the point that upon removal the lead separated from the jacket.

I did not recover the 338 yd bullet as it was a pass-thru hitting no bone.  There was evidence of expansion though the exit wound was a little smaller than at closer ranges.  But it was still an inch to inch and a half wide.

One thing I've liked about the 200SW is that it seems to still expand decent at extended ranges but also holds together up close.

I've allways used the "regular" 250gr SW bullets. They deliver alot of punch, and work well. I shoot either 120grs. T7,or 3 pyrodex 50gr. pellets. Both loads are "lights out" on deer at all ranges. Ron

I've always found the 250gr ShockWave to be a no-brainer.  Two 50gr pellets of 777 behind them and they perform everytime.  I just killed a buck last friday with this load and it did everything it was supposed to do.

I have shot the 250 shockwaves and I am using the 250 SST's now. I like the shorter sabot on the Hornady's more so than the Shockwaves. I think my rifle aligns the bullet better with them. Shot one deer this year at 157 yards that didn't go anywhere and another 15 mins. later at 163 and it went about 50 yards with a very easy to follow blood trail. I was using 2 pellets of pyrodex.

I've always liked the 200g ShockWaves.  I consider them a 200 yard bullet, when fired from my 45cal Disc Elite, with 130g of BH209 ;) 8)  Last year we took 13 deer with them, most DRT, from 30-150yards.

IMO they are MUCH better than the 250g Shockwaves.

i have a T/C triumph .50 cal.do they sell the non bonded 200 gr SW with a superglide sabot or do you have to buy 200gr bullet and superglide sabots seperate? the triumph is tight bored so i figure the superglide sabots would be better..
