Soot,
Thanks for posting these, the first two have been posted here before, or at least I have them bookmarked, but I haven't seen the third. Please, keep posting any full text ordnance books that you come across on the net.
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

Here's a good one for anyone interested in historical accuracy.
Artillery for the United States land service (1849)
This book has the dimensions of every nut, bolt, rivet, screw and everything else on a carriage, limber or wagon not to mention an unbelievable pile of other stuff. It tells you which direction the heart wood should be facing in a wheel spoke. If anything had a radius, it's in there.
Need to know how to load your limber?  It's in there, exactly what and where it goes. Way too much to list.
Unfortunately no drawings, just tables.

I thought this one was great.
Inefficiency of Heavy Ordnance
It seems to be some sort of political tongue lashing.

Part Seventh of Artillery for the United States land service describes casemate carriages for flank howitzers which fits with the discussion M&T started at 24-Pdr. Flank Howitzers are on the Move. We Should Make One

Hand written note in front of book says no plates...drat!

That Inefficiency of Heavy Ordnance ... was written by Norman Wiard who was a competitor with the Parrott Rifle.  It is as much about politics as anything else, but interesting.
