seeking comments on Accurate 1680

As powder is hard to find, and in my town usually totally unavailable, I grabbed a can of Accurate 1680 when I saw it on the shelf of our local store.  I have a 7.62x39 that I load for so I figured I'd use it there but hoped there might be wider applications.  I don't have hornets or similar size cartridges, do have a 223. But comparing loads in manuals, it seems like this powder might work in  cast bullet apps for a variety of cartridges where 4198 and 4227 and similar are used.  Why don't I see broader uses?  Is it that specialized?

I had thought 1680 was THE powder for the 7.2x39 but even there I see other powders often preferred.

At any rate, hoped others with 1680 experience might be willing to inform me.

Ive fooled with it in the linebaughs and the 454. Im sure it could be used for heavy bullet loads in the 44 mag and 45 colt if you werent looking for the last bit of speed as enough wont fit in the case to get there.. It could be used the the 223 again though for the oposite reason you arent going to get all the speed the round is capable of. Ive also used it in the 3220 but again its a bit slow. Im sure a guy could find a load for a 3030 or something simular too. Anymore i mostly save it for the 762x39 because it works so well in that and i do shoot alot of them.

Damn straight brother!!  It's my favorite powder #1 go to powder for the 357Maximum with a 180 SST Hornady bullet.

I have pretty good results with it in the 454 and 32-20 as Lloyd mentioned. My 45 Colt has burned its share as well.

AA1680 is the best I've used for 7.62x39mm loading. I also have used WC680 the military surplus equivalent for 7.62x39mm loading.
