Browning 1885 Rechamber Question?
« on: November 08, 2003, 12:42:01 PM »
I have a chance to get a Browning low wall in 357 Mag. I have no use for this rifle in .357 but if I could rechamber it to 35 Remington. 356/358 Winchester or ????? I may concider it. Are either of these conversions feasiable??? Let me know your opinions good or bad! Thanks for looking.

Browning 1885 Rechamber Question?

Well the low wall handles .260 rem and .243 win so it should handle a 50,000+ cup round.  I turned mine into a .357 max.  It's simple to do, it's just like 35 rem but less recoil, and its devastating to 200 yards.  I even cut the barrel down to 18 inches and it's an ideal 6 3/4 pound rifle with a scope!!!
