CVA Wolf "hollow sounding stock"
« on: October 09, 2010, 08:47:52 AM »
I have heard some folks complain about the hollow stock on the Wolf. I decided to remedy that by filling it with non-expanding foam (Great Stuff), that I got at Walmart. It now sounds more like a solid stock, and is al lot quieter to handle. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Thinking of adding sand to add some weight to it.
Do you think it might cause balancing problems?
I tried wrapping 3lb leg weights on it and it felt pretty good
and heavy, no recoil.

I've got sand filled socks in mine.  Took some of the recoil out.  It was brutal at first, worse by far than a 12 ga. turkey gun...course I was shooting heavy conicals....

You might experiment with temporary weight before adding the foam, then you can add weight with the foam for a permanent fix.... :D
