Sons buck taken with sidekick
« on: November 28, 2009, 04:58:46 PM »
Heres a picture of the deer my son got with his sidekick last night the 27th in Southwest Michigan. Needless to say he was very happy. This makes it his third deer this year along with a cow elk. His first two deer he got with a bow.  My freezer is full along with my bull elk I got with my sidekick and buck I got with a bow. It dressed out at 190#'s. He was using a Hornady 350 grain FPB with Blackhorn powder. Hopefully I will get a chance at one like it since we have seen another one but could not get a shot at it.

That is one beautiful buck!

Did he get a pass through with the FPB? Just curious.

Congratulations to your son on a very nice buck! 8)

You guys have had a good year, for sure. Looks like you might have to buy another freezer. ;)

Yes it was a complete passthru. Hit is just behind the shoulder and it took the heart out. Went about 40 yards and collapsed.

I would have a combination heart attack/DT's if I saw that while hunting   ;D

He has done real well this hunt'n season..... I tell you those Hornady 350gr FPB muzzleloader bullets shoot great out of my huntsman. I just harvested a 130# Doe the other day and the shot was at 80 yards and had a complete pass thru double lung shot. I use the M/U plug and Blackhorn 209 powder also...
