I use them on S&W J-frame and love them. As you know however I'm not a Ruger user so can't speak to them on that gun. Generally speaking they maintain same over all profile as factory grips they replace and generally aren't any thicker but with your gun I just dunno.

I have them on an SP-101 in 38 special and as graybeard stated, the profile is not that much different than the stock grips. You'll love the investment.

well i have them on  2 taurus  small framed revolvers , and  they are both different then factory  little bit longer, and  have a nicer feel,
the  ones on my xd45c are atotal different  deal cause they are on the outside of the grip handle,  i like all them 3 so i thought id ask on the 101 , i read where the hogue grip  keeps your hand  back farther  from the trigger guard  ,

bill what is it you dont like on the ruger 101 ?  or is it all rugers?

I have the hard polymer CTs on my 101 2.25 357. I love them. The original issue grips fit my hand well and I kind of miss the grippyness of the rubber.  But, the CT grips have greatly improved my shooting accuracy and the harder grip doesn't snag on clothing. They fit my hand very well too my hands are kind of small.

I'd try the newer soft rubber grips if they didn't cost so much - but they might hang on clothing and cost more.
Oh a good source for CT grips at great prices is:

I got a set of CT soft rubber grips for a S&W Mt Gun from them - good service.

With the laser you can learn to shoot from unconventional positions and without using the regular sights.

But yesterday I learned I need to practice more often, even with the CT laser. I did a lot of missing as I hadn't shot in about 8 months.  And I needed to use the iron sights too to get reacquainted with the feel.

Oh and I have had excellent battery life. Tho I don't carry a lot and the laser stays switched off.

dand  thanks for the info  just what i was goint to ask, the soft  style  i have on one taurus and yes they do drag and hang up on clothing, i had  the poly grips  and they dont  hang up on shirts ,  but dont give the recoil  protection as the soft , i was thinking the poly grips for the 101 ,  plus arentthe old poly  grips  a lil shorter on the bottom end? and yes they are 50 + bucks less

Shaner, I don't know if the hard poly grips are short on the bottom end. Seems like they were pretty close to the same length as the issue grips. Possibly a little longer. I was pleased they fit my smallish hand as well as the issue grips.  I have no problem with the recoil feel with the hard poly. I think they are well formed to take recoil. I shoot mostly a home load (357) of 140 gr Rem HP with a middle power charge of Unique, Herco or similar powder. But I shoot a few full power 158 jacketed and even some 180 Federal cast core each year too. After about 50 rounds I'll feel the effects in my wrist but not in the palm of my hand. I mostly shoot about 25 - 50 rounds per session when I'm feeling in tune but have done 100-150 rounds of the 140 loads. Need to get back in practice and should be doing 100 a time now - my last session showed my form had gotten real poor.

sounds good ive decidedto go  with the poly grips ,  yeah i understand  recoil doesnt bother me either it seems , iam usin a home load of 158gr gold  dot and 7.5gr of power pistol , low pressure and recoil  fast and hits hard beats any factory fire throwers ive shot
