SP101?
« on: December 27, 2009, 11:03:20 AM »
Did Ruger ever make the SP101 in .38 Special or .357 with a 4" barrel and adjustable sights? I though they did, but now can only find 3 1/2" with fixed sights.

Couldn't recall they did but checked my RENE and didn't see one there either so I'm gonna say "No."

Ruger has made special production runs over the years, but I think the 4 inch has only been made in .22 rimfire.

The Ruger SP-101 has never had fully adjustable rear sights on any model. Only the .22, and .32 had windage adjustable rear sights. I sure wish they did offer them! The earliest ones were .38 Special only, and then they came out with a .357 (125 grain bullets only) and then they lengthened the cylinder and offered it in .357 all bullet weights. All .38's, and,357's so far have been fixed rear sight models.

If I can find a used one, at a good price I would still buy it, with a 3" and fixed sights. I have also thought of a Charter Arms 4" adjustable sighed .357. It weighs about the same and costs about 1/2 as much, but I really like the little Ruger
