H&R does cut some looong chambers.  I measured length to lands on my 500 S&W with a core lokt 385 grain hollow point bullet, and it did not stop against the lands until about 2.450 inches on average.  Most OAL recommendations are at about 2.220 maximum (for bullets other than this one - but still...).  You have to get quite a bit beyond the crimp grove to come anywhere near 0.02 inches off the lands!!  Just because you can stuff a longer cartridge of the same or approximately the same diameter in the chamber, doesn't mean you should shoot it - as norted several times above.
