Did the beer can shim thing with one barrel, worked so good still useing it after about 200rds. still tight, I know I'll need to do a proper fix one day.

What is the "shim thing"?  It removes play in the latch? Where do you put it? How do you do it?

Mike, the shim goes between the pivot pin and the barrel lug, it is used when the barrel fit is too loose......... there is a whole write up on barrel fitting in the FAQ's., explains it very well.

Just use a little JB Weld or Quick to glue it to the barrel. You'll have to sand it down a little because of the thickness of the epoxy. A bit of sandpaper around a drill bit will do it.
My 45-70 has been shimmed this way for quite a few rounds, including a box or two of 300gr at 2400fps.

Enough to make my barrel too tight.  ;D I just lightly sanded the shim.
