What is the difference between CCI 200 and CCI BR-2 primers?

When I could not find
400's
200's, I bought a lot of BR-2's.
The real question is:
Do I have to start all over on load developement with BR-2's, or can I expect the same results?

BR to my understanding is for bench rest. If you are splitting hairs for accuracy the BR primers
should be more consistent = better accuracy, AND they cost more.
You may see a slight difference in point of aim. Shoot them and see, you may be OK with your load.

Now don't confuse me, CCI 400 are small rifle, BR-2 are large rifle bench rest, do you mean to compare CCI BR-4 and CCI 400?
Calhoun doesn't list the BR-2, but primer cup thickness is different for the two CCI small rifle primers.

My bad. I meant 200's; Large Rifle.
I figured the only difference was lighter metal on the benchrest, besides more money.

Yep,It's a quality control thing, more consistant,a little hotter and I too am told that they are a bit softer so as to make for quicker/softer firing pin strikes. Shane

If using max or close to max loads, you should always start over if you change anything in your loading components including the brand, lot numbers of primers or powder, and brass.
