270 UC range report

Its only 14 out but just had to take the girl for a dance .

130g Remington factory ammo was used to dial in the scope and shoot the first 2 groups @ 100 yards , both running in the 2 1/4" size , the barrel came to me 2nd hand so I have no idea as to round count , can't be many though .

Next up were the Rem 150's which did a liittle better as groups go , running an Ave. of just under 2" for 3 groups , these were still dead on R to L but 3" low .

3rd up were some of my handloads , made up of IMR 4350 under some 180g Nosler E-Tips , this load does show real promiss , it was off to the let about 2" and low by about 5" , however the groups were running right at 1 3/8" for 3 groups .

Lastly were my handloads of some old Sierra 90g HP's over a max load of IMR 4895 , these were really moving , hitting almost 6" high and 3" to the right , groups were not as good as I expected as one of my other 270 barrels just loves them .

Over all I think the UC will end up being a heavy for cal shooter and I'll keep the other one set up for the lighter stuff .

180 grain E-Tips...? Wow... that's impressive

Hope you get it dialed in to your liking Bro..Try some Federal Fusion in it if you get a chance..I've had pretty good luck with the stuff..

Haven't found one of my 270's yet that didn't shoot them well , ( the 180's ) be it Handi or Ruger bolt gun , did up some more test loads this morning with them , 1/2 FL sized and the other 1/2 Neck sized just to see if I can shrink the groups even more .

Where did you get those 180 grain 270 bullets from? I'd like to try some of them..
