Howdy Folks,
Thought I would do an intro on myself since Ive been posting a lot lately.
My name is David, my friends call me Dave, ALL 2 of em. Was born and raised in
the Texas Panhandle where we see tornados almost every year. The landscape is littered with oil wells and if you go outside of town and look across the prairie the oil wells look like gigantic grasshoppers making their way to a place that doesnt exist. Rolling plains and some deep canyons make for some really dull scenery, field after field of wheat and cattle land seem to go on forever.
I married only once, 25 years ago. I musta done that right because Im still very much in love with my wife. We have 3 kiddos, 21, 18, 12 - Girl Girl Boy, in that order. My 18 year old daughter lives in Paris Texas, the other daughter lives here in Amarillo in her own apartment and of coarse the 12 year old boy is still at home with us, I told him next year he can get-out and get a job to earn his keep *JK***(just kidding)
I was an industrial structure painter for years and years and then went into painting cars and body work and my wife kept working at fast food restaurants. My wife developed a career in this industry and I quit working to stay at home to take care of our kiddo we still have at home. I found I was good at fixing cars but still the ole lady could make far more money than I ever could, hence the decision of me staying at home taking care of the house and such. She did not like the idea of both of us working and splitting-up the house chores, I clean house and take care of our son and she works. Every single time we discuss ME going back to work we always end - up with me staying at home. She dislikes housework and staying at home and thats that in a nutshell
*L* She makes too dam much money to stay at home..*L*
My introduction to guns did not come from my dad. My dad was nothing more than a mean drunk caught-up only in what he wanted. My mom got rid of that sub-human piece of trash and I was raised by my grandparents. I only saw my grandfather hold one gun and that was a German Lugar he bought back from WW2. My mom married a man when I was about 11 years old and he introduced me and my brothers to guns. The rest of my gun experience comes from just buying them and reading all I could on that particular make an model. I went into compound bows for a while and it got real old fast playing injun so I got myself a 30.06 scoped with a variable power 2.5 X 9 Redfield scope complete with Whelan sling, I reloaded all my own ammo. I could drive nails with that gun out to almost 300 yards. That was just too easy so I found myself looking into BP again and now Im back full bore into this fascinating hobby. At least I feel challenged now.
I enjoy doing graphics and web pages and I have not posted my web address because I really need to update the Theme of my website to match BP (Black Powder) instead of motorcycling. Ill be giving-up my bad boy leather look for one that is more lets say CowBoy. I just think its time to put those things away and cut my hair for a more presentable look, I think Ill get a better response from folks when talking to them face to face.
I dont have much to offer to GBO but I sure like to ask questions. Ill contribute if I can help anyone, if I dont then that doesnt mean Im anti-social it just means I dont know anything on that subject
.*smile*
GBO has a fine set-up here with good folks, glad I found it!!!!
