6.5X225IMP ROCKS!!!!
« on: December 30, 2009, 03:16:26 PM »
Contender with a OTT made 20" full Bull in 6.5X225IMP (aka 6.5JDJ) Shooting Nosler B-Tips over 39.0Gr. IMR4350. Very accurate little rifle. This is a target from Load-D.

Yesterday was the first day of our 3 day late doe season. Using the little 6.5X225IMP I took this doe at well over 300yds. She went about 60 feet and fell over.

In this photo looking through the gap in the line of pines across the meadow to the far tree line was where the doe was standing.

Using the same Tender rifle I took this one today at only about 50yds.

what kind of velocity are you getting?
I have it on good authority that the telepromter is writing a stern letter.

I have never Chrony it. Matter of fact this past Sunday was the first time I've shot it in almost three years. The trigger is heavy and needs work and I think it will shoot better groups.

David D...

Good job making meat with your 6.5.  Fifty yards to 300, pretty dang versatile cartridge / rifle combo I'd say.  Oh, and it takes the right person running the trigger as well.
