Broken Hammer Spring
« on: December 30, 2009, 11:04:32 AM »
A friend of mine (he doesn't have a computer) is looking for a hammer spring for his Contender. I'd like to help him out if I can, it's an older gun and has the Cougar engraved on the receiver. The serial number is 748xx. Where could we find this spring? If you can help me help him I would appreciate the effort.

Thank you.

I sent you some pics, I think it's a Contender hammer spring. I have a .pdf file of a later Contender manual but it sure looks like that's it.

If the hammer spring has to be replaced, search for info on how to make and use a slave pin to install. It is not an easy job witout the slave pin. This is for the older Contenders. I'm not sure about the G2.
