Outdoors enthusiasts can keep up with their favorite pursuits by looking indoors this weekend. The International Sportsmen's Exposition and The Fly Fishing Show will be making their annual Denver appearances.

Both will feature exhibitors offering information about products, services, conservation organizations and outdoor destinations, as well as opportunities to buy related merchandise, and both will have an array of instructional presentations by various experts.

The Fly Fishing Show at the Denver Merchandise Mart has a catchphrase: "Fly fishing isn't part of the show, it is the show."

The larger, 33rd annual International Sportsmen's Expo at the Colorado Convention Center also has a strong fly-fishing presence and includes other forms of fishing, along with hunting, gun dogs, RVs and campers, trucks and trailers, ATVs and other attractions.

New additions to the ISE include the DockDogs pond and contest, 3D pop-up archery range and contest, "Rise" movie premiere, Catch magazine photo contest, Eastmans' Trophy Deer Display and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's great elk tour and ultimate rifle raffle. The Best of the West Fly Casting Tourney has been changed to an accuracy contest.

Featured presenters include Corey Jacobsen, six-time world elk-calling champion; Scott Linden, author and host of the "Wingshooting USA" television show; Geoff Nemnich, champion predator caller; Nicole Darland, co-host of "Fly Fisherman TV" on The Sportsman's Channel; Barry and Cathy Beck, fly-casting instructors and photographers; and Simon Gawesworth, authority on Spey casting.

Local speakers include Pat Dorsey, Chad LaChance, Landon Mayer, Nate Zelinsky, Barry Reynolds, Bob Hix, Ed Gorman and Paul Winkle of the Colorado Division of Wildlife, and a Friday Night Bytes panel hosted by sponsors of the Fish-Explorer.com website.

The Fly Fishing Show also has an impressive cast of local, national and international experts conducting seminars, demonstrating casting and fly-tying techniques, signing books at an author's booth and teaching limited-size classes (which cost an additional $75).

Featured presenters include Gary Borger, Dave Whitlock, John Gierach, Ed Engle, A.K. Best, Charlie Craven and Dave Hughes.
