Canon6  the .327 Federal has peaked my interest to say the least, could you please fill us in on the stub job and how  the .327 has  performed in a rifle length barrel

I have a 32-20, a 25-35, a 307 Winchester and a 454 Casull.

All of your listed calibers are "do-able" and handi friendly. The only one I would have any limitations loading for would be hot rodding the 257. Load it to factory specs and enjoy a very nice 25cal rifle. Don't get me wrong, even +p loading are safe in the handi. Personal experience has shown me 45,000 cup class cartridges perform best. Yes my Casull is  well above this pressure and so is my 500, 280, 30-06, 223, 308, 307 and 25/06. I load the 307, 500 and 454 to approx 45,000 cup or lower pressure. Most of my reason for the 307 was to get a rim and the 454 was because I was uncomfortable pushing the long colt. I didn't want to chance one of its loads getting into an expensive SAA or something else not strong enough to handle it, should I not be around .

The 327 is neat and all.. buy why recreate the wheel.. build a 32-20 and leave the young upstart in the dust...

Bubajunk, pay no attention to  CWLONGSHOT his beloved 32-20 is as old as we are ::)   while the 327 Federal is as fresh a as a new  peach. ::)
The stub was done (trotterlg) with a 303 Brit barrel from e-gunparts and a 20 ga donor barrel.
It was very accurate and with  cast 115 grain fngc  I was able to get north of 1900 fps .
I had to sell it  so I never got to work any jacketed loads. I made up a very nice , light. fast carbine.hth  Doug

225 Winchester, now there is a underrated cartridge if there ever was one. If I had a greator need for a hi-speed 22CF I would build one in a second!! For the little I use it, my 223 and 22H fits my needs.

.223 to 220 Swift, lots of fun to shoot and with a 24" barrel I do get over 4000fps easy.
