Every time I watch this I can't sleep.

Watched a rerun of FBI files about the Texas meth cooker who shot a couple of lawmen in Nebraska and then killed a farmer to get his pickup. What keeps me awake is that the chief of police and his assistant in Lusk Wyo had him boxed in and let him drive away. The assistant had his shotgun out and trained on the guy but didn't pull the trigger. We pay these guys for years and years to protect us and when crunch time hits they prove to be fat butt cowards. The Columbine school shootings was the same thing.

This hits close to home for me because we were living 10 miles away at the time. These cops issued our pastor a citation for killing a badger in town that he thought was rabid, but were just clowns in cop suits.

The Leo was probably concerned about the repercussion of firing his weapon.

Political correctness has eliminated the argument "he needed killing", and the officer probably chose the politically correct and safest thing to do.

Political correctness has also put more regard in the life of an animal than the life of a human.  Just look at the Mary Winkler case, then the Mike Vick case.

We now live in a bizarro world.

Gentlemen, at all times, be prepared to defend yourselves.

The program said he never got a look at the druggies face so he couldn't ID him. The guy was in the truck he had killed the farmer in. The window was blown out from that murder. They had license plates and description. Then the guy starts it up and runs from them.

I see no excuses, the cop was a coward, either he was afraid to actually take another human life, or he was afraid he would blow the shot and end up in a gunfight and get hurt himself.

I think he was afraid of the repercussions of killing someone he couldn't positively identify. Of course he could have tried shooting out the tires. But I don't know the whole story. It seems though, disabling the truck would have accomplished something.

I'd prefer the cop hesitate and let the guilty get away, than play commando rambo and shoot the innocent.

It it's an either/or.

i think, oops, there are a few cops in small towns that probably never thought they would have to use their weapons. i also believe some should have never been one.

Perfect reason to make sure "We The People" are always armed.
