Schmit-Rubin 1889 Swiss rifle- need info on ammo

I just got a Schmit-Rubin 1889 rifle, straight pull. It says it uses GP90 ammo. Is this the 7.5 ammo. I have read that there is a 7.5x53.5 swiss ammo.
I'm looking for ammo to shoot in this rifle. Where can I get ammo loaded?

I'm guessing it's a handloading project. Original cartridges used paper patched bullets. Here's a link with some info:

The 1889 model of schmidt rubin uses cases that are 53.5 millimeters long and the GP90 is the correct ammunition to use in it.
Do not shoot the more modern GP11 which is intended for the newer models such as the 1911 and K-31. These rifles have the locking lugs in the front of the bolt (1911 and K-31). The 1889 has the locking lugs set further back and is intended for the lower pressures of the GP90 ammunition. The GP11 ammunition is loaded to higher pressures and if fired in a 1889 model damage to the rifle and possibly the shooter can result. You can use the 7.5x55 cases trimmed back to 53.5mm and lower pressured handloads. Hope this helps. Frank

Some M1889's have been modified to M1889/11 specifications and are supposed to be safe with GP11 ammo. If it were me, I'd still download it as suggested. No sense in straining a rifle this old, especially with your face behind it.

I have some Noram factory ammo. I do not know if it is still made ot not.
My rifle shoots well but disappointed me when I discovered there was no address under the but plate.
