When he posted about his problem. I'd been eating rolaids for quite a while, once or 2x a day. Never realized I might have acid reflux. My wife has a btl of ranitidine 150 MG the doc gave her for her acid reflux, she no longer needs it. Anyway, I took one last night, one this morning and another tonight. This is the first day I haven't even wanted a rolaids. I saw it at the $ general too, same 150 mg, generic for $4 for 24. I'm going to see about pricing a prescription for it, generic of course. do a double check with the MD. if that's your course of action, look to walmart, walgreens, kmart, CVS, or a local pharmacy(even better) at their 90 day (180 tabs) deals for $10-12.
Hopefully everything is ok and you'll be able to "cure" your problem with an inexpensive med

If you are taking prescription drugs. Antacids may interact with certain prescription drugs. Take antacids two hours before or two hours after prescription drugs.

Ranitidine is generic for zantac.  As a prescription, this is on the $4 list at wal mart.  You can get a month's supply for $4.

Congrats.  Acid reflux is a terrible thing to live with.  Almost 10 years ago I started having issues with it. I'd have TERRIBLE heartburn 4-5 days per week.  Just kept chewing on Tums.   When I finally went to the doctor he put me on Prilosec/Omeprazole and I've been good to go ever since.  1 pill per day and I literally have never had heartburn when I've been taking them.  Heck for a while I got lazy and stopped taking them, and just from having taken them daily it took almost 3 months before the heartburn came back.  When it did I got back on them and have been heartburn free ever since. 

I'd still go have a chat with the doc though.  Different medications solve the heartburn problem different ways and depending on your situation he might prescribe one over another.

I wanted to give that stuff a good test so today I had a can of generic beefaroni, pretty spicy and always has me chewing rolaids like crazy. NUTTIN, no upset anything, still no rolaids. I do believe the ranitidine is going to work well for me. 150 mg, 2x a day. After only 2 days I'm tickled to death. I too priced it at work today, walmart. Off the shelf it's only $4 for 65 of the 150 mg pills. After all these years of buying rolaids and it was this simple. POWDERMAN.
