Muzzleloader barrels
« on: January 07, 2010, 02:07:56 PM »
I'm new to Handis, just got my first for Christmas. I came here to get educated and have somewhat. I want to get a muzzleloader barrel for my Handi (.243 Win./20 Ga combo). H&R's website says they are unavailable. So I guess my question is are they going to have some more in the future. I'll probably want one in the Spring. Thanks

probably not, they discontinued the muzzel loader rifles.  I would watch in the classifieds or on one of the gun sales sites.  Larry
A gun is just like a parachute, if you ever really need one, nothing else will do.

Marlin's schedule for running .50 Huntsman barrels is Jan-Mar sometime, they give H&R a 90 day window to produce them, so you should be able  to get one shortly. I wouldn't wait too long tho, there may be a backlog of frames waiting for them.

Thanks Tim. Should I wait until they are are available on the website? Or should I call when I get ready for one?

I'd call regularly or just send a frame in if you can spare it for a while.  ;)

Which frame would work best, SB1 or SB2?

Either one will work fine, the Huntsman normally came on an SB1 frame, but there have been combos on SB2 frames and centerfire rifle barrels too.  ;)
