Winchester X-150
« on: January 09, 2010, 05:38:04 PM »
Hey gang.  Does anybody know where I could get a replacement plug for an X-150, it has the cross-slot in the plug that gets removed with a combo tool that is essentially just a big thick flat heat screwdriver.  I seemed to have misplaced my plug for the #11 nipple after using the 209 for so long.  Several searches on Google and the like have me chasing my tail trying to find out who makes it and therefore supports this product.  It's a great shooting rifle, but support seems to be lacking on this one.  Any and all help is appreciated.

cabelas has them, cva also have them in stock.  X-150 is a superb rifle! I had one some years ago. It will use the typical CVA breech plug that you described.

Thanks for the info bigblock.  I never really got super into the BP other than building kits for fun, but I got more interested when I started doing some accuracy work with this x150 I picked up on the cheap with two barrels, I scoped the 45 and left the 50 with some tru-glo's on it.  Using 80gr of Triple 7 and shooting a cast Lee REAL bullet, usually all shots touching at 100 with open sights and even better with the scoped 45. I think the REAL bullets were the trick a buddy cast some up and he swore by them, now I do too, I never got that accuracy with power belts or sabots.  Thanks again for the usefull info!
