Yes you can do that, but your accuracy will be in question. The sabot must have a fast twist from rifling to work or shoot straight. The patched round ball will need to be a bit under sized to fit through the choke with out being deformed too much. An improved cylinder or cylinder choke, being the best would help. See if a cylinder choke is availabe, if not, a regular choke can be reamed out to open it up. Another option is the Lyman Cast slug that looks like a large Crossman pellet. They load in a regular plastic shot wad and are very accurate out of my regular shotguns. Don't see why they would not do well in an inline. The choke needs to be removed to load, then replaced for the shot.

Call Knight and ask, I guarantee they will tell you no. The "JUG CHOKE" in a TK2000 has a back bored portion of the barrel before the choke that opens up to a much larger diameter than 12 bore, then is constricted back to 12 bore as it goes through the choke.

I have had a TK2000 since the first year they came out, and I would think that if the screw on choke was removed that it should work. A few wraps of tape or something on the external threads to protect them would probably be in order.

I surely wouldn't try it before contacting Knight first. I remember reading another poster's answer from Knight several years ago, and it was "NO" at that time.

Knight Customer Service can be reached at http://www.knightrifles.com/contactus or (641) 856-2626.

I have one of those guns and had never thought of shooting balls thru it.  Make sure to post what you find out and if you try it.

When I bought mine I called knight about other chokes and they told me the only chokes they made for it were XF, M, and IC.  He also told me that the M and IC were very poor sellers and they quit making them after a small run.  They did have a few of one of them on hand and I got it, and found the other on ebay at the time.  I would think the chokes may be difficult to find now but maybe you can luck upon them.

panman,

Yes I still have it, and it is a #11 ignition. I also have the FPJ 209 conversion that works in the TK200 or the MK-85. To be honest, the #11 ignition works just fine for most powders.

It should shoot a PRB just fine with the choke removed. You really dont have much usable barrel lenght, once you subtract the back-bored portion. I doubt you will get Knights blessings if you ask them however. I have always thought of doing the same with mine, just for the fun of it all. I have 12 other muzzleloaders that will shoot deer loads just fine for hunting though.

Busta, thank you so much for your replys.I two find that the #11 caps serve well for most powders.I shoot loose 777 and it shoots well even in my side-locks.I have a couple of inlines that take the 209s and lookin to change them out to #11s as well. One of my pets is a TC in 32 CAL.Inside 75YDs a #11 tin dosent stand a chance.lol.Two yotes and many chucks have fallen to that 32 ;D.
Gettin back to that shotgun, what do you think of takin off the choke and pourin saaay 6-8 32Cal balls down the tube, with some 777?.I guess i may have to try that one out?,mabey with and without the choke, :-\lol.Guess im getin to old to have any sense ;).pan.

pan,

That buck shot load might work very well for yotes. I think I would use a shotcup and some type of buffer. That .32 sounds like a ton of fun. I have never owned a small claiber muzzleloader. That Green Mountain .32 cal disc inline looks like a real nice one. Can shoot them pretty cheap by buying buckshot and patches.

My smallest caliber is a .451 White and two .45 Knights. I have a White G-Series Whitetail in .504 cal, three .50 cal Knights, three .50 cal H&R/NEF, .54 cal T/C sidelock, the 12 ga TK2000, and a 12 ga White Thunder/Tominator. I think I need one of them .32 cal squirrel rifles. ;D

Watch out Busta!lol.Sounds like you have the BP flu,and a 32 is like a dubble dose :o.I sure like messin with it.Just plinkin, i load 11-13 Grs of 777,& you would be suprised at just how much power the little roundies have.Shootin for real[hunting yotes and other critters]i bump the load to 32 Grs and it will go through a yote, most times to the oppsite side hide.If ya find one you will find a perfect mushroom, Esp.if you hit the sholder goin in.If you do deside to get one ,you will have a lot of fun,im sure ;).pan. :)
