Ruger MKII , never seen one like it
« on: January 04, 2010, 08:14:15 AM »
???  I traded for a stainless MKII Gov. Target Model with a 6 7/8 full bull barrel. Now i've seen the 6 7/8 slabside and the 6 7/8 tapered  and 5 1/2 bull, but not a 6 7/8 bull barrel . Did they only make these for a short period or have i just not been very abservent . I  would aprreciate any comments.

I think that's what I have.  At the time I had a choice of the slab side or full round. Got the full round. Really like the gun. Its accurate and I've shot quite a few grouse with mine.

I got mine around 1991 or so, just as or just before the 22/45 version came out.
Don't know how long they were available.

Even'in doetag,

Hope your Mark II shoots as well as mine!

I have the slabside, and using a 2x Leupold with paralax set to 25yds, by the factory, it is one great shooter!

Got it for grouse shooting while riding trails on the 4wheeler during early Fall, and with ammo it likes it shoots a ragged 10 shot hole at the 25yd range.

Well within the "MOGH" (minute of grouse head) I was after.

Keep em coming!
